Court Orders ‘Yahoo Boy’ To Forfeit Iphone X, Car To Federal Govt

A Yahoo boy Edwin Ognomwan aka Thomas Jerry Stars, has been ordered by a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo to forfeit his iPhone X and a car, Toyota Camry 2006 model to the Federal Government.

After his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was found guilty of Internet fraud, Justice D. Senchi sentenced the convict to two months in prison with the option of paying N1m fine.

Two other men were also sentenced to 14years in prison with an option of fine. The suspects Augustine James and Cyrinus Richard were prosecuted on six charges which borders on conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretences and forgery.

In the year 2019, the above three convicts were the first men to be convicted by the EFCC for ‘Yahoo’.
